Economic Requirements
The incomelevelsofthenon-lucrativevisa established bythe law are the minimum required, and an application showing this level of income is usually rejected. It is highly recommended that you demonstrate higher amounts than those specified.
The figures are based on the Public Indicator of Multiple Effect Incomes (IPREM) and the applicant must demonstrate that they have at least 400% of the specified amount. The current specifications require that the applicant must demonstrate that they have an income of €2259.60 per month (564.90 x 4), plus €564.90 for each extra family member.
It must be demonstrated that these amounts can be maintained for at least one year. It is possible to combine savings and (passive) income to reach the minimum level required for the non-lucrative visa.

Step by Step
Application for non-lucrative residency at the consulate of the country of current residence, using the model form Ex 01. All applicants (including eligible family members) must submit the following primary documents and additional support documents:
- Valid passport.
- Certificate of criminal record.
- Proof of sufcient economic support documents.
- Proof of medical insurance.
Wait for the response from the government. This process can take up to three months.
Collect the visa.
Enter Spain (within 3 months of visa issue date).

- Residency permit.
- Proof of payment of the required fees.

Collect your T.I.E. This card must be carried with you at all times during your stay in Spain.
