We kindly request that our guests adhere to the smaller charter flight rules and regulations regarding baggage limitations when flying throughout East Africa. This does not apply to your International, Regional or Domestic flights with commercial airlines.

Due to the nature of charter and shuttle flight services, aircraft are smaller than typical airliners and therefore have much smaller luggage holds.

Need to Know
Luggage is restricted to 15 kg per person (which includes hand luggage) on charter and schedule flights. Luggage allowance is strictly enforced for safety reasons.

Bags should be soft-sided, flexible bags.

Bags with a solid frame do not constitute ‘soft bags’.

Bags MUST be completely flexible to facilitate being stowed in the ‘belly pod’ luggage compartment of the light inter-camp transfer aircraft.

By not adhering to these luggage requirements, travellers stand to cause delays and incur additional costs to themselves.

This 15 kg includes both hand luggage and travel luggage.

Fill out the form below to get complete details about your desired package.

Pre Travel Information- Kenya

The parts of Africa we work in are much more accessible than you think. For the most part. Thankfully there are still far-flung, remote areas that are still a challenge to get to - but you can get to them, which is the point of a safari, after all!

We'll make sure all your travel logistics are well taken care of, from private charter flights, road transfers and boats to luxury trains, self-drive car hire and scheduled domestic and regional flights. We do it all for you. No matter how complex your itinerary is. In fact, it's our job to simplify it as much as we can to make it easier for you to enjoy the journey!

We try to make use of the most affordable options but also the most reliable ones too. Sometimes it's a challenge, but one we're always up for! Give us the dates you're looking at and we'll make it happen if we can!

We'll tell you all about the nitty gritty like luggage restrictions, vaccinations, masks, no masks, visas, and all of those niggly little bits of red tape that inevitably come into play when you travel these days. So just leave it all to us. It's what we do. And what we love.

Visa and Immigration in Kenya
Kenya has three international airports; Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi, Moi International Airport, Mombasa and Moi International Airport, Eldoret.
These airports service numerous international carriers including the national airline Kenya Airways.
Kenya has good connections to destinations throughout Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, USA and Africa. Kenya can be accessed by road from Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Sudan and Somalia.
Immigration should be processed at land border stations.
Entry by sea is possible, and immigration should be processed at a port facility.

What is the Kenya Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA)?
Kenya eTA is a semi-automated system that determines the eligibility of visitors to travel to Kenya. An eTA offers permission to travel and is authorised by the Government of the Republic of Kenya.
An eTA does not determine whether a traveller is admissible to enter Kenya. Immigration officers will determine admissibility upon travellers’ arrival.
The eTA application collects biographic information and answers to eligibility questions from the traveller.
eTA applications should be submitted at least 3 days prior to travel to ensure adequate time for authorisation.
Each eligible traveller is required to apply for an eTA before starting travel.

How to Apply for eTA
Visit www.etakenya.go.ke
Click “Apply Now” and follow the instructions
Make sure that all the data has been entered correctly

Malaria and Yellow fever
Areas with malaria: Present in all areas (including game parks) at altitudes <2,500 m (8,202 ft) including the city of Nairobi. Talk to your doctor about how to prevent malaria while traveling. You may need to take prescription medicine before, during, and after your trip to prevent malaria, especially if you are visiting lowaltitude areas.
Health recommendation: Yellow fever is a risk in certain parts of Kenya, so CDC recommends the yellow fever vaccine for travelers 9 months of age or older to these areas.
Country entry requirement: The government of Kenya requires proof of yellow fever vaccination if you are traveling from a country with risk of yellow fever. For more information on recommendations and requirements,
please visit https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/traveler/none/kenya

We know. It's a fact of life in the digital age. We have to stay in touch, connected, in range, online, posting, tik-toking... Where we send you, most areas close to main cities have good connectivity, wifi and cellphone signal. Most of the game reserves will have limited connectivity when it comes to cell phone signal (and data).

There will also be limited wifi in remote locations and some places have no wifi at all (yes, there are places where wifi does not exist - black holes in the digital firmament!) But please do not worry as there is always an emergency option for contacting friends or family, either via the lodges themselves or us. And if you find yourself in paradise with no signal of any kind, just put the phone down, take a deep breath and enjoy the sensation of being off grid!

You will need clothing that is loose and comfortable. Try to carry items that are lightweight so you do not exceed your baggage allowance. Some locations such as those in the Great Rift Valley highlands e.g. Mount Kenya, Masai Mara, Amboseli, Lake Nakuru etc. can be cool in the night so pack a warm layer and cozy nightwear. Lightweight sandals are ideal for beach walks by the Indian Ocean, walking boots for exploring the bush, waterproof sneakers or walking boots on your game drives. Carry flip-flops for use in your room or shower. Light waterproof raincoat, hat, sunglasses, swimsuit, durable lightweight shoes for walking and sandals for wearing around the camp, full-sleeved shirts, t-shirts along with a sweatshirt or a fleece-lined shirt, cotton pants or trousers, cargo pants and comfortable shorts, socks, undergarments, sports bras are also very essential for the uneven safari terrain, swimsuits.

Women should refrain from wearing tank tops and short skirts or shorts. During city tours in Kenya, you could be barred from entering spiritual centers like temples, churches, mosques and synagogues if your clothing is not appropriate. Generally the climate is warm and humid at the coast, cool and humid in the central highlands, and hot and dry in the north and east. Across most of the country, rainfall is strongly seasonal, although its pattern, timing and extent vary greatly from place to place and from year to year. Rainfall peaks in most areas are in November and April

Baggage allowance for each passenger, inclusive of hand baggage and cameras, is 15kgs (in soft bags) for all the Safari route flights. We are able to store additional luggage at no charge (we cannot be held liable for any theft, damage or loss while in our care)

Despite all the negative press that Africa often receives, we do our utmost to send you to the safest parts of our continent. Like anywhere else in the world, be vigilant and please don’t walk around with cameras, diamonds and thousands of $$$$ dripping off you. Cities are where you are most at risk .

For any activities in and around the cities we like to recommend the use of a private guide. Private guides are also a great way to experience a place because of their excellent local knowledge which really enhances your safari. If you'd rather explore on your own and enjoy a bit of freedom, please check with us first so that we can advise you of any potentially unsavoury places or no-go areas.

Self-driving around East Africa(Kenya ,Tanzania and Uganda) very safe and we'll recommend routes for you where we can. Self-driving is certainly one of the best ways to explore but should you not feel comfortable there are many ways to get you from Point A to Point B!

No matter how remote the lodges and camps we send you to, we make sure that they are fit for purpose and as safe as they can be. All your lodge managers and guides will make 100% sure that your safety is not compromised in any way, but do remember that you are in the wilderness and the animals you encounter are wild, so please give them the respect they deserve!
